CZ457 MTR Muzzle Velocity

I have a CZ 457 Varmint. I swapped the 20 in barrel for a 20in Long range MTR fluted threaded barrel. 100 yard groups are better and this barrel likes Federal Match over SK rifle match, both shoot Eley black about the same. what really surprised me is that across the board the MTR barrel is 20-30 FPS faster than the varmint.
All 10 shot averages:
457 Varmint457 LR MTRSD
sk rifle Match1063108811
Sk-Long Range107810933
Federal Match 108911155
Eley Match (Black box)105410637

I'm not complaining. It's a minor tweak in the zero for each brand. Just surprised. Anyone see similar results?

Ten shot averages over a chronograph are often too small to be useful, except in the case where they indicate a very wide extreme spread. If the ES is bad within ten shots, it's not going to get better with more.

Barrels of the same length are not obliged to give the same average MVs with the same lots of ammo. Even barrels of the same length from the same manufacturer can have average MVs that are not similar.

When it comes to average MVs, what's more important than barrel length are bore characteristics, which can vary considerably from one barrel to the next.
