It's been years but I poored the pillars on a couple rifles I bedded. They shot just fine. It's probably not the way I'd go for a new bedding job today but it worked out well for me back thenThat fact that they are composit scares allot of people but I think it's without warrent. As a Mechanical Engineer, my thought is that my brothers at CZ, have designed those pillars to take the force of the 457's torque spec without being close to deformation. It would be foolish for them to integrate a substandard performing piller into the design. My gut says there is nothing that would be gained by replacing them with aluminum.
