CZ single feeding

Has anyone been able to modify the extractor claw on a CZ 550 to provide consistent single feed? Grind it at an angle? Grind some off? Mine will only feed regular if you slip the case under the claw manually or feed from the clip.

I have not done any of the CZ's but if I am not mistaken they use the same type of claw type extractor as the Mausers did and I have done plenty of them for hunting critters that might eat you.... such as a bear.

I simply reshaped the claw slightly as well angled it so the round feeds up under it much easier. When I am done you can drop a round into the chamber and have it close on the round, but I don't recommend it all the time such as at the bench, simply load the round into the magwell and close the bolt.

Thanks for the reply cntryboy1289. I ask the local smith and he told me the CZ claw can’t be redone with any reliability. He said that unlike the Winchester, the CZ claw is to thin and would break in short time. There’s no room even if you could put a fatter claw on it. Looks like I’ll be using 2 hands to single feed the longer rounds in this new 308 Kevlar Varmint. Right now I can hit the lands with a Lapua 167g loaded from the magazine. But the 155 Lapuas won’t fit into the clip without a jump.

I might suggest lengthening the magwell then.
