CZ Rifle in 204 or similar?

I have been looking for a new small cal factory cartridge rifle for a while something of a varmint rifle. I have 2 calibres in mind .223 or 204 ruger, I dont want to load for this rifle, itll mostly be factroy ammo. Im really interested in the 204 and my heart is set on it but its proving difficult to get a rifle I like in it, I looked at the remy vssf it was ok but over here its as much as a sako but the problem with a sako is here there not offered in 204, so it would have to be .223, I then looked at tikkas they are offered in 204 but its a 4 month wait and im not prepared to wait that long, I also looked into CZ and found a rifle I really liked in 204 ruger Click Here, its about the same price as a tikka and far cheaper than a remmy or a sako, does anyone have any experience with these? I just want a good quality accuarte rifle for foxes and crows that over the years I can have worked on a bit i.e bedding, re-true etc. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated

I have a CZ 527 Varmint with wood stock. It is a great rifle and very accurate right out of the box with Sierra 40 gr BlitzKings and 40 gr Hornady VMAX. I did not try any of the 32 gr bullets. It was very accurate with a number of powders, but I finally settled on Ramshot TAC ball powder because I had 8 pounds of it and it measures so well !! You won't be sorry with the CZ.

I have the CZ 527 in 204 which I bought as a walking varminter.

It is a perfect walking gun and very accurate for a pencil barrel. It likes 40 grain factory Hornady V-Max ammo but it also shoot's Winchester 34 grain JHP,factory White Box) almost as well. It's very "hunting accurate" shooting .75" groups at 100 yards-I know the Coyote's at the local cattle ranch wish I hadn't bought it.

I also have the Remington VSSF II, in 204 which is my rat popper and "reach out and touch something" gun in the squirrel fields. I haven't got in the 500 yard club yet with it but I will. If I do my part it shoots factory 40 grain V-Max's into a dime at 100 yards.

You'll be happy with that CZ and naturally the 223 ammo is cheaper and more plentiful-the 204 is a lot more fun though!

I just picked up a CZ 527 in a .204 in GA this AM.

Pretty slick looking gun... $539.00 out the door..
Did you guys use the scope rings that came with the rifle or did you buy new aftermarket rings?

What kind if glass do you have mounted on your CZ 527???

Chuck,

I had to get CZ 30mm rings which are not easy to find. I ended up getting mine at Cheaper Than Dirt . Com for about $60.00 shipped.

My scope is a 1x6x44 Nikon Monarch-guys I can't recommend this scope highly enough. The FOV is incredible and that 30mm tube really sucks in the light.

I know some of you have "super optics" but for the money on a carry field gun for busting coyote's it is fantastic!

Here is my "old carry gun" Remington 700 VSSF II in 204. The CZ replaced it for dogs but this old boat anchor has put down many dogs in her days.

Here is my old 22-250, I sold it a while back. Wish I'd kept it now.

You said that you don't want to load for this gun. I think you will find 223 ammo cheaper and easy to find.
