CZ 550 vs Winchester model 70 actions, Long action.

What is the best way to go for accuracy between these two actions, weight is also a consideration, witch would be the lightest?
I know both are Controlled round and that’s about all I know about them, never owned either one. I did own a Winchester for a very short time.

I know, I would rather have a Remington 700 action to start with also, but the person that wants the rifle doesn't feel that way! :o

Neither one. You can work on em for a week and still not be right. If hes gotta have controlled feed go with a montana. While still not much in the accuracy dept at least you can get something going and not have to cut that extractor slot.

I would bet that after a competent smith worked his magic, a Winchester CRF action would outshoot most shooters in real world, practical field scenarios. Bench Rest and F-Class, probably not. Flat bottom for good bedding, built in recoil lug, easy to maintain bolt and trigger assy. What is not to like about the M70 for a hunting rifle?

I always wanted a "Riflemans Rifle" the M70, in a target gun. I had the action, I talked to John Pierce(a genius by the way) who put on a 28" Broughton barrel, and now I have a rifle that will shoot in the 3's off a bipod! M70 all the way-30ex

I have heard more than once that there have been more Wimbledon cup trophies won with Model 70 Winchesters than all other action makers combined.
I believe David Tubb was one of them that won with a Winchester.
