cz 527 recommendations

i have a cz 527 varminter with a laminated stock and 1-12 barrel.it seems to be very picky about the bullets i reload for it as far as accuracy goes.with hornady or nosler 40 gr it will shoot .4 to.5" groups but 50gr to 55 gr from several manufactures shoot from decent to crappy.i just got some midsouth 34gr varmint nightmares to try also. anyone have any suggestions. i have about 10 different powders to use also so recommend away. thanks . mike

I'm assuming this cz 527 varminter is a .204 Ruger? The 12" twist is not fast enough to stabilize the 50+ grain bullets in .20 caliber. Now if this is a .223, I don't know what to tell you because a 12" twist in .223 is enough to stabilize 55 gr. bullets. A friend of mine shoots a custom .204 Ruger and his likes H322 for powder. H322 seems to shine in any variant of the .222 Remington Magnum cartridge!

My CZ 527 American in 222 shoots 45 gr Sierras very well using H322 at full charge but heavier bullets don't do so well. The 14'' twist probably dictates the lighter bullets (40-45gr) for best accuracy. The 527 is a sweet little gun, I wish I had the varmint model instead of the American.

I have the same problems with the exact same gun. It does ok with the 40gr vmax, but so far thats about it. I tried a load with 50 grain blitzkings that does well in just about everything i have- it didn't like them.

My chamber seems really tight- how about yours?
