CZ 527 magazine

I recently bought a CZ 527 in the .204. This is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned but I have a problem with possibly the magazine. When loaded with the 5 rds, the top round is VERY hard to strip off. I can see that the red poly tip is pushing up in the feed ramp. Almost like the mag sets too low. The next round is better but still tight. Any ideas?

You need to take the spring out of the mag and adjust it. There is a diagram of the mag in the owners manual. Also lightly scotch brite the lips of the magazine to knock the sharp edges off. I have 2 mags for my 527 and had to do this to both.

I did take the burr edge off of the lips and that helped some. What do you mean by adjusting the spring? I haven't had it open yet. Is it a coil or flat spring? With the 5th rnd loaded it feels to be too full of spring cause it loads hard.

The magazine spring is a round spring set up in "accordion" configuration. Take the spring out and in very small increments bend the high side of the spring down and then try the clip again. I had to do this several times before I got it just right. James Calhoon from Calhoon Rifles told me how to do this over the phone several years ago. Both of my clips required this, and now they work great.

OK I'll try that. I'm see in my mind, "very small increments" as 1/8" or 1/4" in from the end and continue to the bend or are you saying, from the tip to the bend, bend it slightly down.
