As I approach my 70's, I have been informed that I will soon be a grandfather. As a result of that I have been considering a .22 rifle for that grandchild that my daughter or son-in-law could use to teach that child safe gun handling skills. After some mulling it over I have decided to purchase a CZ 452 Scout model and keep it as a safe queen until such time my grandchild is old enough to learn to shoot. The truth is that I may not be around to see that day. What say you about that rifle? Do I still have to buy a trigger kit for it? Thanks...

I got a CZ Scout for my two boys when they were little, probably about 6-7 years ago. I put a little Leupold scope on it, perfect for them to learn how to shoot. They've since graduated to larger rifles.
The rifle is nicely built without being silly. It's accurate enough to reward proper technique, which was important to me.
I don't know what you mean by a trigger kit. If I recall correctly I set it as low as it would go (not very low), and it's fine.

Thumbs Up to the Cz rimfires. I have a 452 in 17 HM2 and am still impressed after 10 years with the form, fit, function and accuracy of their rifles. I would recommend the trigger kit also......you want the youngster to start his shooting career with a gun that offers him the best chance of honing his marksmanship skills without having to first overcome a guns deficiencies.
