Cut barrel and recrown

What do most gunsmiths charge to shorten barrel and recrown? Have a 26" bartlien on stiller action I would like to shorten it to 22". Thanks

I would go for the re-chamber end $150. The barrel will have a new throat and the new crown is part of the price. ;D

Thats a great idea Mike thanks.The barrel only has 260 rounds down the tube .All i gotta is find a gunsmith close to home now.Thanks guys.

Just wonder why you would want to rechamber a barrel with only 260 rounds on it..

Barrel is almost 27" long i like a 22"-24" barrel.Thats the only reason for wanting to shorten it.I dont think it needs to be rechambered just a few inches cut off and recrowned . I live in Louisiana by the way . Its a 7mm-08 so the extra fps means very little in the rifle as it will be hunting mostly.
