A very good friend of mine and his wife are in town shooting woodchucks for the week. This year, the wife, Ashton, picked up her new purple woodchuck/competition dual purpose rifle.

It’s a McMillan Kestros with purple paint matched to a Borden Left Hand BRLXD. The varmint barrel is a 6mm BR .272 neck with an 8 twist barrel. The chamber was done by my good buddy @Cigarcop since my lathe was down at the time.

Sighted her in at 200 with 58 gr vmax for some chuckin fun and let it rip. Will be fitting a recoil pad shortly now that she knows about length of pull and fit her properly

I think she’s happy and I think her husband is jealous she SNERTED one right away.

Husband Justin and his 6 Dasher with 87 Grain max had a good morning. 2 for 2 in 30 minutes before having to prep for 4th of July festivities. ‘MERICA!

The big one was a true big’un. Estimated 12-13 lb

The 20s are some of my favorites. I typically shoot the 32, 39/40, and 55 gr class bullets. The 32 is almost exclusively reserved for the small 20s: The 20 VT, 20 Pup, etc. The 39 and higher goes for the big dogs: 20 Tac, 20 BR/Dasher, 20-250, 20x47 etc.

In the 20 BR/Dasher, which is what I chamber most for guys these days with the 20 VT a close 2nd, it is basically hold and shoot anything from 300 and below with a 200 yard zero. You can push the 40 to over 4000 fps pretty easily.

I have no problems with a 20 br in both a Borden super short 6 and a normal short action with mdt mags

I go 2nd focal plane so the reticle stays smaller and doesn’t cover a varmint at range.

Many of which are overkill but hey…why not
