Customer service at Kelbly rifles

I want to start out by saying, kelblys does not know me from Adam. I do have a stolle panda action, but I did not purchase it, it came with the rifle I purchased.
I bought a 15-55 x 52 Nightforce scope and replaced the weaver scope, I had on my rifle. I went to installed the bolt and low and behold it would not go past the scope, as it is quite a bit larger than the weaver. I called kelblys and spoke to Ian, and he suggested I sent the bolt to them as they do about 200-300 of these a year, bending the bolt handle.
Well I didn't want to send the bolt to them as I would not be able to shoot for a week or so, Ian suggested if I was handy, I could do it myself, just put it in a vise and bend the handle. So I am handy, and decided to try it myself, well I could not bend the bolt handle , and also nicked the chrome in 4 places. I gave up and called Ian at kelblys and he was very reassuring and said just send it to them, as they have a jig for this type of work, no problem.
Sent the bolt to them and had it back in two days. I tried the bolt in my rifle it fit like a glove and then I thought about the 4 nicks, I put in the bolt and looked and they were gone. They not only bent the bolt the proper amount but also rechromed it for me , I could not believe it. Being the way customer service is now days.
Kelblys did a perfect job and went above and beyond what they had to do... Now that's CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I called Ian at Kelblys and thanked them for thier service and asked what I owe them for the job and they said NO CHARGE, can you believe it... bottom line I am a customer for life and will spread the word for them.
Thank you Kelbly
Rob

I have had 2 short range BR rifles built by Kelblys. Workmanship is first rate and they shoot dots.
When I wanted a tactical rifle built, Kelblys was the only builder I called. Ian is great to deal with (as are all the Kelblys) and he answers my questions by email almost immediately.
I know I won't be disappointed when I get my new rifle.

I too am a nobody, but have done business with the Kelbly family for 20+ years. The things I have asked them to do and the things I have messed up would boggle your mind.
Every encounter with them has been just as you described. Their treatment of customers is by far the BEST!
If you ever have the opportunity to attend a Super Shoot, you will see the same courtesy extended to the hundreds of shooters from all around the world.
These are great people. The best to deal with.

Ask Ian what you do after riding your Harley to a tavern to meet a few Texans for an evening meal. Oh, by the way a terrific thunderstorm came up. I will only say he pushed his bike inside and had a wonderful night.

I returned to shooting at a competitive level in 2007. From the beginning, the Kelbly crew has been there to answer any question, build anything I wanted and aren't bashful in suggesting a better way to accomplish the task with a better finished product and many times with less $$$ spent out of my pocket. I'm one of those guys that always wants to know the "why". Never, not ever, has there been an answer that was BS just to get me to shut up. I live 60 miles from Kelblys and I've had small jobs done while I wait. I just happen to be very fortunate to be able to drive my project to them and explain exactly what the finished product should be. A better group of people working smoothly is hard to beat. From George to Jim to Ian, the concept of making sure the customer come first has never changed.
BTW, I am not employed by Kelbly's and no one "suggested" that I write this post. It's simply given credit where it is due.

I recently bought my 1st custom action, I called a bunch of manufacturers and looked at countless web pages. When I called Kelbly's , Jim Kelbly is the one that answered the phone and helped me. He is a great guy to deal with. I am not a plastic kind of guy I deal in cash, I ask Jim about sending him a money order in a couple of days, It was no problem, He took down the action I wanted off his website, treated it as sold long before he had my funds in hand. Kelbly is old school, solid people. Jon

The Kelblys are like extended family! Great people, great products and great service. I've got two actions in the works one for short range and one for long range! Can't wait to get them!
