I remember hearing awhile back about a remington clone action for ~600. does anyone remember who was making those and how they are coming along?

Not Remington clones, but RPA and Barnard make actions that fit the Remington long action bedding. They use a little longer barrel stub for rigidity and a bit longer rear bridge and port. I have one of the RPA Quadlite actions and love it.
