Custom PCs

I have been building some custom gaming pcs for the past 6 or 8 months for myself and family members. Figured there might be someone here that would like to see them.

This was the first one. It was a hp pc to start with then made a corsair atx case fit a btx mobo it works but i dont like it. Zotac gtx1060 6gb mini gpu. It is my sons more on a upgrade for him later. Had to butcher the case to get the moterboard in it. No one makes a case for that mobo. I have since put a h100i aio water cooler on it cause the i5 3570 cpu does not want to stay cool.

I like the creativity there to get the odd sized motherboard in there. If they had had the decency to make it an itx it would have fit in pretty much anything.

This was my second pc and my personal set up. Gigabyte z170 gaming 7 mobo, i7 6700k cpu, 32gb gskill trident z ddr4-3200 ram, msi seahawk x gtx1080 gpu, deepcool matrexx 55 case, deepcool 240 aio watercooler, deepcool argb fans, samsung 240gb 970 ssd, seagate barracuda 2tb hdd, seasonic focus+ 850 psu, and cablemod braided cables. Red dragon mechanical keyboard and mouse, msi 144htz 1080p curved monitor.

Overclocked at 4.5ghz

I used to frequent overclock.net but haven't been over there in a while. Used to have a lot of great info and helpful folks (and not so helpful children too, but such is life). Might be worth taking a look if you've never been over there. I'm mostly into building small and silent these days. I don't need as much power and enjoy the puzzle of fitting it all in to the smallest space possible.

3rd one is my stepsons, he got it for honor role all year his freshman year while taking advanced classes.

Corsair case, deepcool arg fans, coolermaster 240 aio watercooler, asus prime z270 mob, i7 7700k cpu, asus gtx1070 strix gpu, 16gb corsair vengence ddr4-3000 ram, seasonic prime 750 psu, braided cable extensions, 500 gb nvme m.2 drive, seagate barracuda 2tb hdd.

Overclock on cpu at easy 4.6ghz

This cpu with better cooling is capable of 5.0+ghz, i had it at 4.925ghz but was pushing thermal limits. No need to put the undue stress on it so i backed it off to 4.6.

The last one... for now.

This was supposed to be my sons but he got a D on his report card, was going to be a nice upgrade for the first one i assembled him.

Was my first custom waterloop project cause i was given a bunch of parts free.

Thermaltake core x71 case, asus p9x79 ws mobo, i7 3960x cpu, 16gb corsair vengence ddr3-1600 ram, msi 980ti with ekwb gtx titan water block, swiftech apogee xl cpu water block, swiftech maelstrom v2 dual bay reservoir, swiftech mcp-50 pump, swiftech fittings, mayhems clear uv blue coolant, 2 240mm radiators and 1 360mm, cool moon argb fans 10 of them, 2 uv led strips, seasnic prime 1000 psu, 2 cosair fans in bottom out of sight, braided cable extensions, crucial 240gb ssd, and wd blue 1tb hdd.

Very healthy oc on cpu 4.5ghz on all 6 cores and gpu with a stressed temp of 52c. Room for more.

Still working on this pc to get a bit more out of it, and dont have a clue what im going to do with it.

I have been on there a lot too, also on linus tech tips.

I spent most of my time on there about 10 or so years ago with the first gen core I processors. Built my first full custom then around a Asus 1366 mobo and 980x processor. Water cooled with a big ole rx360 xspc radiator and dcc pump. It was for simulation work at the time. Stuck a gtx480 in it to game with. Computer finally kicked the bucket with a memory controller failure on the mobo 3 years ago or so and rebuilt it with a devil's canyon 4790k, which was overkill for surfing the internet... lol
