but he didn't get an answer from someone who owned one, he got an answer from someone who googled the name. I guess I'm different, My research starts with gathering all the info I can find on my own. and then ask who owns or uses some thing and what do they think?

Sir, I didn't need to Google Maurice's name. I knew him for about 25 years. If you want real info you could contact David Christman in Delhi, La. He was a protege of Mr. Ottmar. David is a member of the ACGG. You have to build and present your work to their board of the best custom gunmakers in the USA.
Below is a rifle that David Christman did for me. It is a Mexican Mauser in 275 Rigby. It has a half octagon barrel and double square bridge scope bases.
