Custom f/l die

JW -

Howdy !

Say... if your 6BR is not an autoloader, have you given thought to use of a ( custom ) combo
shoulder bump / bushing neck size die ?

You situation may be such that you won't actually need to FL size; after every firing ?

Hornady's custom die dept. has made me some of the latter; which have really done the job...
for me ( my loads, my rifles ).

On the other hand, I have a friend that has a slow twist 6BR varmint rifle that he loads to high pressures to wring out the highest level of long range performance. It has a custom barrel and chamber. The stock BR die that he first bought did not size the back of the cases enough, so I suggested that he send fired cases to Harrell Precision s that they could send him a die that was the right size for his chamber. He did, and they did, and the result was perfect sizing. Harrell's dies are bored with CNC equipment, rather than cut with a reamer. There are many slight variations that are on the shelf so that all that has to be done is match the fired case with a die that is ready to go. Compared to the usual time delay and expense of having a custom die made, their process is very economical and fast. If you look on the index on www.benchrest.com under dies, you will find the web site listed. You might want to check it out, just remember that they would prefer that you call when ordering a die, just to make sure that all of the details are properly addressed.
