Custom dies

Who are you guys using for custom dies? I planned on using Whidden for a 7saum ackley that is coming togethor but looks like they have suspended custom dies for now. Any recommendations? Also could I use any standard saum seating die? Thanks

I’ve only had one custom die ever made, and it was a hydro form die from Whidden. Hornady will make a custom die from fired brass. You can also buy a newlon blank and have your gun smith chamber it, but you will need a different reamer. Neil Jones lists custom dies.

Might be cheaper to have a chamber reamer made up to match a cheaper die by someone like Redding than $900 for a die to match your reamer, but I am just thinking Outloud and know nothing about making reamers. LOL

I had the same question a few days ago and the only response I got was from Hornady and it was a maybe. How do you maybe make a die. The seater die is not a problem and can be made with your chamber reamer but the sizing die requires a carbide sizing die dimension reamer that has to be special ordered.
