Check out the Nesika classic. Nicest action made.
Just his opinion. He's not right, he's not wrong. You got to chuckle when people say this is the best action or that's the best action. Truth is there is no best actions. Some are better than others right from the manufacturer. They all have their strong points. Marsh & Panda actions you can't beat their wide footprint for bedding, and their integral scope base, well every action should have something like that. Just eliminates bases, which eliminates a potential problem with bases loosening up. I like a Bat action because for the most part you can swap barrels from one action to another if the threads are the same, same with a Panda or Marsh. Borden's are know for their ignition systems. I love my 3 Farley's, they are very smooth and very strong, and if your a runner, they work great, but you can't swap barrels from one action to another. The actions are tapped with oddball mounting threads and as we all know, customer service just plain stinks if your looking for replacement parts. I have used 2 world class gunsmith's and they both told me the exact same thing, you have to work on a Farley a lot more to make them shoot than a Bat. I've seen people mention that Bat's are the most accurate. I don't know how somebody could actually think that because the rifle is made up from a bunch of parts. What good is a Bat action if you end up getting a barrel that is sub standard. Same with a scope. If u look at the equipment list, yes in group and score Bat's rule, as far as numbers are concerned. Yes Bat's win a lot, but at the bottom of the list, there are Bat's on the bottom. So you can take a Bat, Farley, Borden, Stiller, Panda, Marsh, built by a reputable Gunsmith like Borden, Goodling, D. Scott, Ronnie Long, put it all together, have the best tune for each complete rifle mentioned, and put it in the hands of a real good shooter, and he'll win with any of those actions. Why, Because in the end, all else being equal, the shooter is the one who's going to make the difference, not the brand of action that he has, it's his ability to pull the trigger at the right time. Perfect example. I bought my first benchrest rifle from Dean Breeden, who arguably is the best short range score shooter in the IBS at this moment. It's an early Farley Black Widow. In his hands he kicked ass with that rifle, it's the only rifle that he's ever owned that he shot a 750 with at the Bud Pryor in MD. I bought it and I've won some matches with it, but I'm a fair shooter at best. Same action, same barrel, same stock, different shooter, different results. Enough said. That is a p
That is a pretty bold statement!!![]()

Different things are needed on a long range action. I take it the guy is building a long range hunting rifle. What applies to short range is not the same. You need a stout action when you start hanging heavy 30 inch barrels on them. Ignition is more important for long range. Vertical matters way more. The reloading techniques are also totally different. Bat pretty much rules in long range BR but a few others are making progress. I would buy a BAT or a Borden for this. MattJust his opinion. I hear what your saying Matt and I knew somebody was going to bring up the LR vs SR thing. I was just talking in general about actions as a whole.Different things are needed on a long range action. It's a 300 ULTRA and that takes some consideration. MattI hear what your saying Matt and I knew somebody was going to bring up the LR vs SR thing. I was just talking in general about actions as a whole.
I was just countering what the guy said about the Nesika action being the nicest action made. I wasn't answering the guy who started the thread. I realize that you have to have a heavier duty action for a LR rifle. Like I told you before, I was just making a point in general about actions. It's a 300 ULTRA and that takes some consideration. Wondering which are nicer? Blonds, brunettes or redheads? Help needed!
