Custom 6mm PPC-.262 neck

I had James Hare of Fort Pierce, FL, build this 6mm PPC in the early for ‘80s for varmint hunting. It;s a “lite Sporter” and is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned or had the pleasure of shooting., The first five shots I made ith this rifle over the hood of James' Toyota pick-up made one tiny very slightly ragged hole.

The rifle was built on an XP100 action, with a .262 necked chamber, a 'gain twist' barrel, a very lite Timney trigger, a composite stock he made, weighing only 7.1 lbs, with it’s 12X Leupold scope. I still have a few of the initial loaded rounds he sold me loaded with H322 and 62.5gr Watson bullets.

I also have about 500 once fired Lapua cases and several die sets.

Asking $2800

Make a nice truck gun for my Jeep. but a little steep for that purpose. Looks like that's what he used it for as well.

Actually, to show you what a total idiot that I am, the rifle became a "safe queen" and I never shot it again after that first time out. I own several items that I thought were of high quality that I have never used because I prized them so much and didn't want to mar or damage them in any way so I never used them (cowboy boots in 1978, blue blazer in 1985, Canon A1 35mm SLR film camera in 1988). Unbelievably stupid right?
Any way, factoring in inflation, something that cost $1 in the early '80s would cost over $3. today. In today's world my rifle alone would cost over $3200. The brass and scope would cost several hundred dollars and the dies some more. I think that my asking price is quite reasonable. You haven't even made a suggesting price. All you have done is suggest that it is a "truck gun".

Picture shows this is not a work of art. It was built to shoot, ACCURATELY~!! It does precisely what it was built to do and does it exceedingly well~!
Its beauty doesn't rest in its appearance but the targets it shoots are Monets, Homers, and Remingtons. The number of coyotes you can collect will be significant.
I shot 62.5 gr Watsons over 27.0 gr of H322 in a SAKO case. The target disappeared when I sold my property and moved in 2000~!

Anyone want to make an offer~! Perhaps one of you would like to buy it without the scope, brass, and dies. That's a definite possibility~!
I can understand why someone who doesn't compete in bench-rest matches would not be interested in a 'one-holer',especially considering its light weight @7-1/2 lbs with the scope. I was thinking more along the lines of coyotes right between the eyes or prarie dogs at 100 yards, and this definitely would fill the bill.
Living with the long term effects of chemo and radiation followed by a mini-stroke have taken me out of the shooting game, and that's the reason for the sale. It's the first of several long guns and hand guns~!
