Curved vs Straight Timney trigger

I'm going to get a trigger for a rem 700 & was wanting
to see which one might be the better pick.
Is going on a 22-250 to be used for ground-
hogs out to 4-500 yds.
Any info appreciated.

As I understand your question you want to compare the advantages/disadvantages of the curved vs the straight trigger design.
The curved trigger provides an ergonomic advantage (disadvantage) of offering greater surface area for the trigger finger. The straight trigger offers less surface area to the trigger finger so pressure on the trigger is focused into a smaller area and thereby reduces influences from the finger's "touch" that might not support a straight back pull.

thanks for comparing the triggers. I know the jewel is better as I have one on my br.
I was just wanting to know what the thoughts were on straight vs curved.
Thank you Lapua40x for your info.

Is the rifle basix Erv3 a step up from the timney or does the jewell leave it in the dust also?

If money's tight, and even if it's not, there's nothing wrong with a properly-adjusted, old-school (pre X-Mark) Rem 700 factory trigger. These can typically and easily and safely be adjusted to about 2 lbs. Or you could send it to Neil Jones and have him adjust it to about 1 lb. for whatever he charges these days: http://www.neiljones.com/html/gunsmithing.html

I would not use a Timney, nor a Rifle Basix. For me, it's either the factory trigger, or a Jewell or a CG-22.

Thanks for the info,.
I don't think I will get a Timney now.
I'll stay with the rem adjusted down.

Yes, even for some $$ Id stay with the orig part-no matter what, IF it can be made to do what you want/need.

Keep and parts replaced (springs?) should you want to go back to stock.
