“Curved” Forster Co-Ax Linkage Now Available

I haven’t seen this posted yet so I thought it would be worth the time to let those looking for the Josh B linkage they can rest easy…Forster is now offering their version of the upgraded linkage on their website.

I was extremely lucky in finding a linkage set made by Josh Badeau a few months back. I do not see any changes in operation or leverage with the press other than it does not work well with some of the thicker jaw sets like the .338 Lapua. Forster may have done something to the design to compensate for this but I couldn’t say; I don’t use my press for my larger magnum calibers so it’s not an issue.

The biggest advantage is the side clearance which lessens the ergonomic woes some people have. After using the press with the linkage, I wouldn’t be without it.

Nice that Forster finally figured out what Inline Fabrication did a long time ago. I run the Inline Fab arms on my Coax, much better access in and out of the press. So yes these would be great enhancement.

Had these from inline since they came out , only one other improvement I would really like is a lever with a higher yoke as the original one can hit/rub/scrape etc longer dies

Same here. I have the first model and the mic type seating dies almost all hit. I use the rockchucker for those but I would rather use the coax.

I’d use the coax for everything up to 308 , because of that it’s a expensive deprimer

I could not locate any of the curved linkage, I fabricated my own. No way can they be fabricated for what Forster is selling them for. Definitely a major improvement in accessibility.

Does not have any effect on die settings, stroke is the same.
Curved linkage hole centers, same as straight linkage hole centers.

I just switched from the Dillon 550C to the Forster. Huge change in accuracy and saving time. I love this press.

Some of you have asked questions about changing feel and effecting die settings--which are great questions, by the way.

I just put a set of Forster brand curved links on and the feel is significantly different. Rather than the hard stop, there is a very mushy stop and pushing the handle deeper into the stop does move the lower a small amount. I have not testing sizing though I will report back after dong so, but my initial impression is disappointing from a feel perspective though it does open up the access incredibly well. Always a compromise...

I've used a Co-Ax for about forty years. I've not seen the problem this alleged improvement cures. Does this appear to be more of a marketing ploy than something practical? That's not intended cynically, but rather in an inquisitve way.
