Current 6mm ARC brass offerings?

Looking for thoughts on 6mm ARC brass offerings & when the more expensive offering may be worth it. Currently we have Hornady, Starline & Alpha to choose from. Correct me if we have more options for 6mm ARC head stamped brass that I was not aware of.

Seems Hornady is OK, Starline may be a bit more consistent & Alpha while she has a really good reputation in other calibers may be a unknown in 6mm ARC.

Peterson also made claims to be bringing 6mm ARC to market for 2023. As of yet I have not seen Peterson 6mm Arc brass being offered.

Are you concerned about the brass used and therefore not working up loads and enjoying your rifle/cartridge with good old Hornady brass, which is available and will work just fine. ???

Not the case at all, When Starline came on the scene & Hornady brass was pricy & hard to come by yet I stocked up well with Starline. I am quite pleased with Starline, to tell the truth. Though throughout the summer my desire to shoot has been minimal at best.

With temps looking more favorable again & Alpha brass becoming available my interest is picking up again. My use is in a mini bolt action & I do look forward to giving Alpha brass a try for the sake of comparison. Have 100 pcs showing up tomorrow & look forward to putting a few cases through a extensive testing I suppose. Hope to compare notes with others.

I truly hope someone will bring arc brass to market that can approach Lapua Grendel or 220R brass quality. Not even close as of yet, at least not for br pressures. Sure, good enough for gas gun limits but modestly speaking, there's at least 10,000 psi difference between the two.

Have you seen, measured or shot any of the Alpha 6 ARC yet? Just curious. WD

Suppose I have been playing with the Alpha brass a little bit now. Way too early to offer the whole picture for sure. I have fired 50 pcs of brass twice now with no complaints to be sure. Just to early to say though I have high hopes.

My prep amounted to inside outside chamfering the necks & following up w 000 steel wool to remove burrs left by the chamfer tool.

Primer pockets have been very uniform & tight with CCI 450 primers.

Initial loads were using 58 grain V-max over 26.3 grains of H4198 in the CZ 527 rifle w the 22" Pacnor barrel. Was not expecting anything to speak of in the accuracy department with this combo. My expectations were exceeded with a few sub 1/2" 5 shot groups. For whatever reasons my groups were better with a warm barrel.

This is just a hunting rifle with a light contour barrel & a 10 power scope.

I have a heavier barrel That I am looking forward to giving a go b4 long I expect.

As for the Alpha brass the toughness seems top notch as is the consistency. Afraid a considerable amount of time will pass b4 I get a better understanding of how this brass stands up. I have done 6mm ARC from Lapua 220 Russian & 6.5 Grendel, so my early comparison of the Alpha brass is leaving me optimistic that this may well be some very fine & durable brass.
