Current 39a setup

‘73 model, factory base, Leupold low profile rings, Leupold vg -1 2-7x28. Had to remove the elevation ramp and fold the rear site down- i can slide a piece of paper between the site and scope - so it should be ok, with a steel base and rings. Tack driver. I can’t quit shooting it..Cheers. First post.

Nice set up. I have my Winchester 94 ( bought in 1949) with semi-buckhorn sights and the old Marble tang folding peep, Which is of course, from back then, marked 30WCF. And have thought of scoping it also.
But the need to drill one hole to mount the base, etc. to do so, may take some value away from this old carbine, which has taken it's far number of deer in many years, at times.
It will never leave the family and I will pass it down to the youngest son. But a scope would sure be nice, with my old eyes and me not seeing iron sights as well now days.

Sorry to sort of stealing the thread, but Scoped it would fit in to this one. Like the above posts and the photos, to boot.

I read those were made from 61-63. Does that jive with your serial number?

First rifle I ever shot from my great uncle that treated me like an grandson. When I graduated High school he gave me the rifle and not to his own grandkids. I cherish it but use it. Mine is a '68 I believe.

Serial # starts with a U so should be 1961.
