Cryogenic Barrel Treating Vendors

I don't think it makes a more accurate barrel, but in LG 1k after shooting 8-9 sighters then run off 10 in a minute for score, it may help from seeing that flyer that kills a lot of groups..

Not close to where you live but Kathy Bond who owns Cryo Plus near Kelblys in Ohio has a super fast turnaround time. She has done 2 barrels for me the last 4 months. 68 bucks a pop includes return shipping and insurance. She puts em in the deep freeze friday nights and after warming them back up sends them back out the first of the week. Highly recommended..

I'm surprised Jim O'Hara hasn't chimed in as he swears by cryo treatments and will say that it will help eliminate vertical or an occasional flyer as the barrel heats up during the score shoot. And as Butch already relayed, the barrel does machine easier. Anything one can do that helps even a small amount is well worth it to me.

All machining has to be done prior Melonite.

I used a guy in North Carolina that did a lot of Nascar parts. Had 2 rifles done at the same time, I noticed no improvement at all. Have not wasted the time or money since.

Butch, does the barrel need to be " broke in " before melonite ?
what about Polish or bead blast?

The only thing I do is wrap a little steel wool around a bronze bore brush and polish the machining fluff from the throat. I use an electric drill. It takes very little to do this. If you bead blast you will have a flat black finish when you get it back or polished will look like a deep Weatherby blue black.
Scrub the barrel when you get it back.

The Bond's (cryo plus) go to -320 degree's nice people to deal with, fast turn around.
