Crown preference

What type of crown do you like on your rifles?
Had a pac nor barrel put on my cz204 with a recessed crown to try and keep it “stockish”.
My next project is a 20 vartarg and thinking of doing target crown.
Just trying to see what type you folks prefer and any particular reason

With no Muzzle brake:
I "LIKE" recessed 11 deg
But recessed 90 deg is just as good

with muzzle brake, I prefer no recess to be able to clean the carbon off the muzzle easier

When a device is always going to be attached, the recess (Target Crown) is not necessary since it will never be exposed to get dinged out in the field

I normally use the 11 degree. Last 2 barrels I cut flat with a little recess.
These barrels were due for a touch up. Targets showed no difference.
Joking around, I had taken a long in the tooth burner to make another
mule barrel for one of my cat's. I cut the crown to a 45 degree funnel.
Shot pretty good considering.....LOL......I was once told by an old timer
that flat base bullets preferred a flat crown. I never sat at the bench to
prove it out since I was mostly shooting longer ranges with boat tails.

Years ago a couple of guys had a M70 30-06 with a 28 inch barrel and wanted to see the velocity drop by removing an inch at a time, didn't care about accuracy but they recorded it. They got tired of removing the barrel to cut a crown with a lath, so they just wacked it off with a hack saw and squared it up, no crown. In the end one of the most accurate lengths was around 17 inch and they didn't even square the muzzle. In my limited experience, I cut the barrel and square the muzzle and line up the bore and then cut a recess with a 45 degree cutter (to keep from dinging the muzzle). I have yet to make a barrel shoot worse. I am not building BR barrels, but like .5 MOA.

Lately, 11 degree full face. I had barrels done by "Stick" at S&S Precision back in the day that the muzzle face was flat with about an 1/8" 45 degree recess around to bore. Was a very clean look but performed very well. Now, I'm speaking of competition platforms. On my tactical platforms where no muzzle brake is used, a semi-deep recess to protect from portability.
