Creedmoor scale with trickler solutions?

Just got my new creedmoor scale and the trickler can just barely reach the pan. What is your solution to use a trickler with it? A small hole in the cover and a straw to extend the trickler?

I've never tried it, but I'm not sure a straw extension would work well. The tube is threaded to push the powder forward, once it gets pushed to the straw, I'm guessing powder would start to bunch up in the straw.

I'd look into getting a used Dandy trickler, they are way more adjustable...and no more twisting a tube.

I use a Dandy trickler with the Creedmoor scale. I will never go back to a manual trickler.

I finally broke down and got the Dandy Trickler. Now I don't know why I resisted so long! Remember to get the tip of the drill bit nice and hot, (not red hot) before you start drilling the hole in the plastic.

I was also thinking of making a stand.

Not really interested in the dandy trickler. I have no problem with the manual trickler and if anything I will save up and get that new auto trickler thing that works with this scale.

Place a funnel on the scale. Keep a bowl about 1/4 of powder to use for adds and subtracts in front of scale, and use your thumb and index finger for a trickler. The learning curve is pretty short and it works a lot better than you would think it would. I use a RCBS for the rough throw then trickle to weigh on my A&D

Do u do this with ball powder? Just some tweezers and a a pan of powder is fine for stick powder. I bought this scale just for 17 hornet and cfe black which is like fine sand.

Rcbs used to make extensions for that trickler. A call to them might be worth a shot to see if they have one left over.

I believe RCBS still makes the adjustable add on. I got this model
about 5 years ago. It does have a heavy bottom.

I pinch up/down with SB 6.5.
Pretty close to 1 kernal per count.
My second hand RCBS Gen 5 is close but not accurate enough, My lee measure isn't either.
I'll shoot for +/- 2 counts (0.010 grains).
This is with an A&D EJ54D2, low range.

I have the same trickler you do. I did something similar to Mudduck. I glued blocks together equal to the height of the creedmoor scale. The trickler base is very stable so you can slide over the block edge a little. No longer a problem.

This is such a common thing. A company needs to make a longer trickler or extensions for existing models. An extension for the one I have would be easy to make on a lathe. Seems with the growth of long range more people are using these big fancy scales.
