Creedmoor 6.5 and lapua bullets

Hello gentlemen

I have see the g7 bc for the 139 scenar is .289 and for the 136 lapua is .288, I was wondering what the majority of you are using for a bullet the 136 or the 139 and the pros and cons. I would assume you would get a bit higher velocity out of the 136 grains, if you don’t mind sharing your load please.

my rifle is a stiller predator action
barllin barrel 24 inch 1-8 twist

I have varget h4350 and staball powder
lapua small primer brass
thank you all the advice will be appreciated

Most use the 140g class bullets. I personally find the 140 ELD-M and Match to shoot really well. I think you have a good selection with Staball and H4350. Glad to help more if you need specific help.

I havent personally shot any lapua 6.5 bullets.

Cheers and keep shooting.

I've shot a couple thousand 136L and a thousand or so 123 scenar.
H4831sc with the 136L's
4166, and A2700 with the 123's

I have shot scenars in lapua factory ammo and they don’t shoot as good as hybrids or sorted eldms. People were shooting nothing but scenars in the 90s because there was nothing else available ariund here. Times have changed though.

I shoot scenars because I couldn't get 4 different Berger bullets to shoot smaller than the Lapua scenar in my Creedmoor, hand loads not factory.
140VLD, 140 Hybrid , 140 EOL hunter, 130 OTM Tactical....
They shot small just not as small as the scenars.
I believe if you sat down with a comparator you'll find the scenar both 136L's and 123 measure better as well, both BBTO & OAL, at least with my tools they do.
So in summary yes please shoot Berger bullets, this way when I need more Scenars I'll be able to find them on the shelf and hopefully keep prices lower. Lol
Now I just need to find some 150gr 7mm Scenar for a 280ai

The reason I’m shootin Scenars is because they are easier to find here in Canada ,Berger are hard to come buy and expensive. I’m more interested in the bullets performance of the 2 bullets I mentione, is there a noticeable performance between the 2 at longrange?
