Doesn't look like the scope has any markings on it that say it's nightforce. But the seller is a crook for saying it is one.

This is nothing new.
I ended up with one on a trade 8 years ago.
Sent it to NF for repair and they confirmed it was a forgery.

I call NF and have them verify the serial # prior to taking one in on trade.

The Ebay ad did not say replica, They are also counterfeiting Spuhr mounts.

Few years back I bought an Athlon on Ebay, worked fine for 200 ish rounds then the side focus assembly just disassembled itself.
Sent it to Athlon for repair and was informed that it was a fraud, markings not right and internals definitely not right.
The company kept it as a learning tool and sent me a new replacement, great customer service!
If they sell Athlon copies, then they are surely selling copies of other higher dollar optics.
My lesson was don't buy stuff like that on Ebay

Chinese take pride in making “the best copy”. Unfortunately, US companies did a great job rushing into China to reap the rewards of their growing economy, and shared too much in the process. Today, all industries are fighting Chinese copies. There will be no end to that. It is the new reality. Make sure you research and know how to spot them. Too good to be true? Probably is…
