I have a 7.5 twist .223 Ackley Improved. I would like to use 8208 XBR, but also have RL-15 and Varget and other powders available. Winchester, Lake City brass primarily, and possibly Lapua Brass down the road, Federal 205 primers.
This chamber is relatively short throated, loads in fireformed brass are 2.35" COL with 77 nosler CC's on top of 24.5 grains of Varget. I thought I had a decent load with 8208 but last trip to the range with some wet cases resulted in blown primers, so I am starting over again. I also have a stash of 75 and 80 grain Amaxes.
I'm just looking for a safe range with the above powders, will do a ladder test and verify in my rifle.
Thanks in advance if you can assist.
