Could a FV varmint 243 barrel work on the FLV LH action?

With a .308 bolt face you could shoot a 20 BR or .20-250 with the .204 barrel. If you want to shoot the .204 Ruger you'll need the .223 Rem sized bolt. For Remington Actions, you can purchase bolt assemblies from Pacific Tool and Gauge,

To the Editor,

It doesn't sound like this barrel swapping is all that great. I guess a 243 and 308 would swap out ok, but that's not what I want. Thanks.

ba-50,

For someone who's not familiar with cartridge head diameters and/or boltface dimensions: no, barrel swapping is not advisable. For the time being, stick with factory guns.

its not really that big of a deal. I have a schilen DGA with 2 bolts one for 204 ruger[223 dia] and one for ppc bolt face. each barrel is head spaced to its respective bolt.with another bolt from kiff you could do this. you would need a barrel vise and an action wrench.____treeman

Even better, buy the $20 bolt face from SSS and swap bolt face and barrel. That is what I did, although I am not a novice.
