Copper Plating Barrels ?

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN PROVIDING AN ACTUAL ANSWER TO THE OP’S QUESTION, FEEL FREE TO CHIME IN.
Tommie, in what context is he asking? Plating the outside for looks? The bore for different reasons? He hasn't commented on any of the contents of the posts on this.

As previously stated TOO SOFT. A bunch of threads happen every year about barrel life, how long do you think a copper barrel will last with a copper bullet going down it at warp speed. The barrel is harder for a reason. I keep hearing all the ways rifles need to be better, first we had a triangular chamber, then we had a square barrel, now we had a copper plated barrel. I think that the present design works pretty good in the hands of people like Bart, Tony Boyer. and Dave Tubb. When you can beat them and have perfected the art of marksmanship to the point you need a better design then worry about a copper barrel. I know that for me I have left plenty on the table, and have much room for improvement

My bad. I assumed the OP was referring to outside plating. Never dreamed anyone would want bore plating. Wow.

What if we got a giant press and made a mold where we could press corn cob media into bullets, then every time we shoot, we clean the barrel at the same time? I am calling Bart right now!!!! No wait we graft a BAT Action to a M60 machine gun then when we get a good condition we can shoot a 5 round burst into the target and we never have to worry about the wind??? Wait what about a score rifle in 20mm so you get the advantage of the bigger diameter? No wait what about a m60/BAT 20 mm with shooting corn cob bullets? I am calling Alex , Bart and my class 3 guy right now. No wait........... I am going to learn to read wind and shoot the ugly gun to its fullest potential

I noticed that barrels with many shots, bushings that previously slipped very tight into the barrel, no longer entered through the chamber side and continued entering normally through the crown side.
Concludes that it could be copper filling the voids in the steel barrel, creating a constriction in the barrel.
But I may have concluded wrongly. Not first time...
