I,ve recently ordered a cooper in 6br, after finding out it is chambered in norma, not rem. However, i,ve just been on to the importer, and he tells me, the twist rate is 1 in 14? what weight bullet will this barrel shoot?, it isnt going to shoot the 100+ grainers is it? Will i be able to get a load to shoot accuratly at 1000 yards with this barrel? i,m in two minds whether to cancel it or not.

With a 1:14 you'll be limited to max bullet weights in the low 70gr class. A 75gr V-Max might stabilize, but a 77gr Lapua would be marginal. That's not to say some guys haven't been able to stabilize an 80gr Fowler in a 1:14, but Jef Fowler calls for a 1:12 for example. Berger even suggests a 1/13 for its 65gr and 68gr bullets.

I think you made a good choice in buying a Cooper and I think they made a good choice in using the 1:14 twist. Unless you need/want to shoot at considerable long ranges, the slow twist will give a tremendous varmint/light game rifle out to 400-500 yards.
Starting with 55-gr. Sierra Blitz-Kings, which my 6BR will shoot into very small groups up through 70-gr. Blitz-Kings or 70-gr. Sierra MatchKings, including both 58- and 65-gr. V-Max's, you'll find that this caliber/twist combo is extremely flexible and will shoot incredibly well with a wide range of bullets.
The 55/58s will easily push 3,600 fps; 65 V-Max's were most accurate at about 3,250; 68 Berger's will push 3,200 and shoot into benchrest-size groups; 75-gr. V-Max's and 75-gr. Hornady HPs shoot into sub-1/2-moa groups with several loads,though in my rifle they need to be seated well into the lands with a load of Varget).
You will really enjoy this rifle. I'm one of the guys who believe the 6BR really shines with 1:14 twist and lighter bullets. Good luck and happy shooting.
