Cooper Model 57 in 17Mach 4

Saw this model at a dealers and wondered if anyone has one and tell about the pros and cons of it?

thanks
Bob

I think a Model 57 is a 17 HMR, not MachIV. But they are excellent shooters. Have one that shoots .5 at 100 with Hornady 17VMAX

Hector is correct. The model 57 is a rim fire action, but it shoots incredibly well. I have one in 22LR, and I get five shots in one hole.

My 17 Mach IV is a model 21 Varminter. I'm thinking about selling it, so let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,
Kory

Kory and Hector: this is the link that made me ask the question

I think what the seller meant to say was, 17 "Hornady" Mach II,or better yet: 17 HM2), not 17 Mach II. The 57-M is a rimfire action.

Bob;
Here is a "Con". I always clean my 17 cal. centerfire rifles soon after shooting them do to a carbon ring just in front of the chamber. If I don't clean the gun until weeks later that carbon ring seems to harden like a rock and it is tough to get out. The carbon ring is easily removed soon after shooting the gun.
