Cooper Model 22

I just saw my first Cooper rifles up close and noticed that the Model 22 did not have a Remington type recoil lug in the single shot models but the repeater models did. What does the single shot receiver use for a recoil lug?
Thanks. Tom

a rectangular piece of steel slides into a dovetail that is cut in the bottom of receiver and held in place with a set screw.

What is your opinion of that method? Is it unique to Cooper or are there any other rifles that use that method? I guess anything to same on machining costs. Tom

It works just fine for the bigger BAT actioned rifles.....I believe the Cooper solution is just fine.
