Cooper M57 LVT Silhouette

I am wanting to shoot some rimfire silhouette. I have a Cooper M 57 LVT with the traditional factory stock. I love the gun and it really is a great shooter. My question is.........I want a more target/ silhouette stock for a more relaxing head position. Does anybody know of a stock that I can buy that is made for the Cooper? How about a cheek riser type pad? Also, anybody know of tall scope/base set up? Is all of this really worth the trouble or do I just focus on a dedicated silhouette gun like the Anchutz or the new Sako Quad Range?

I have one that is pretty much like you are thinking of. I had Cooper put mine together but if you are handy with using a barrel channel scraper and doing bedding you could buy a stock direct from them and do it yourself. They used my 57M LVT barreled action and opened up the barrel channel on a Jackson Hunter (synthetic) stock. With a Leupold 6.5-20x40 scope, Warne steel mounts, and Leupold Rifleman high rings the weight came in a 1 ounce under the Hunter gun limit so that I can use it in both Hunter and Standard rifle class.

Using the Jackson Hunter stock, either wood or synthetic, will give you the high rollover cheekpiece like the Anschutz 1710/1712. If you do not like the roll over cheekpiece you could use a Classic stock. There is not a lot of material left on the sides of the forearm along side the barrel but there is enough that it looks ok.

If you should decide to go this way and wanted a rifle you could shoot in both classes I would recommend using the synthetic stock because you would be less subject to weight variations like in a wood stock since a wood stocks weight will vary according to the density of the wood.
