Cooper m22 .243 Win

My Cooper(new to me) first time at the range. It didnt seem to like the 100 grain Core-Lokt ammo(1 1/4" group) at 100 yds. , will try some 95 grain Federal Fusion.
Really like this rifle.

Nice rifle, it should shoot well.
Do you hand load? If so, try the 95 grain Nosler ballistic tips or 85 grain Sierra hpbt. If you don’t hand load then try to find some factory stuff with ballistic tips or Vmaxs.

I don't hand load, gonna try some 95 gr. Federal Fusion next trip to the range

Coopers are sweet! Have you checked your barrel twist? I don't know if the varminter models have slower twists or not, but if it does, your decision to go with a lighter bullet should pay off

Best I can measure is is 1/10 twist. Bought some Hornady Precision Hunter 90 gr. ELDX. Gonna try these. Hope they shoot good.
Will post results after next time to the range.

The Winchester Supreme with the 95g bt ct is a great round!! Kinda of pricy for factory ammo but they work well on deer and are accurate!!

That's a very nice rifle you got yourself.

For factory ammo the 95 gr FUSION is one of the best bang for the buck. Sub MOA not even trying.

The 100 gr corelokts are not the greatest, but the 80 gr Rem Corelokt and the Federal 80 gr SP seem to shoot pretty good. I had no problem getting those 80 gr factory loads to group sub moa from a factory Savage rifle (many moons ago).

Most accurate factory ammo I've ever shot was the 243win Federal Premium 100 gr Sierra Gameking. Incredibly accurate.

Here is a pic of 5 shots at 100 meters.

That was more than 10 years ago. So I doubt the boxes of ammo look the same.
