Coon Hunt!!!!

Here is a few photos of my dogs treeing a couple raccoons. Coons generally don't like to move on a bright or full moon, but a few nights ago they sure did. We treed three. Left them all in the woods...if you kill them then you don't have them to ever run and tree again.

Only time I ever went coon hunt'n I was in my boxers!
Was in hunting camp one night when another guy had his hound staying with us. She treed a big coon right outside the cabin around midnight. We had to go "hunt'n" in order to have any chance of getting back to sleep.

I was born and raised in the deep south. Next county over from "knock em out John" Jerry Clower. First time I went Coon hunting was with two old coon hunters who had dogs and headlights. Only the old timers got to have headlights. I was about 12 years old I think. Hay watch out for this bob woare fence (you got spell it like they say it) I spent the rest of the night feeling my way through the pitch black night trying to find that bob woare fence. Old timers had a good laugh

Awesome, reminds me of many moons ago with my Black & Tan coon hounds. Loved those dogs, and the great times we had together!

We had a great Black and Tan that had about the sweetest voice on a track. I can still hear the long howl she’d let out...music to my ears! Great memories. Still remember when her switch was flipped, I sent a live one down the tree with a poor shot and she tied into it...I heard a YIIIPPP when the Coon got ahold of her and after that it was like a demon was let out and I just heard her crunch crunch crunch on that raccoon with a pile of aggressive growls. After that, ALL she ever wanted to do was chase coon any chance she got and she was damnded good at it too!

Had a bluetick that sounded like he pee'd on a hot wire when he opened. Caught a lot of crap over that dog, but he was a solid tree dog and not trashing, hated raccoon.
