One Shot One Thrill

Cool Acres is proud to announce the formation of the Outlaw Benchrest Organization !
This is not conventional benchrest! We are bringing together all styles of shooting. Shooters will be able to shoot from the bench or the prone position! The rules are very simple! We are dedicated to SAFE, FUN and EDUCATIONAL shooting for all.

So to show up at the first match and shoot the 1000 yard event will set one back $50. And that would only be 10 shots for record if one does not make the "showdown." Seems kinda steep. Am I missing something?

Further, how big are the scoring rings?

That is the same way that I felt three years ago before I shot my first match but three years and many matches later I can assure you that it is well worth it. It is a different format of shooting and yes there are fewer rounds for record but you come ready to shoot the very best that you can. Barrels remain very accurate for more matches and make more wins possible.
I will put up a Target on the web page with dimensions of the scoring rings the 1000-yard target has a two and a half inch X Ring and a 5 inch 10 ring and moves out roughly 1/2 minute per ring.

I appreciate what y'all are doing over there, even though it's not my cup of tea. If we're gonna make a road trip, my buddies and I prefer closer to 45-60 shots for record. We're not so experienced that we don't need the experience of sending more projectiles down range to improve our wind reading skills. There is no substitute for attention to detail and lots of practice to perfect wind reading skills. We were hoping Cool Acres would expand the F-Class offerings compared with last year, but I guess that's not gonna work out.

We are going to . Looking to start F-class league in March or April . I will update the schedule soon.

If they shoot a double match you would shoot more then 40 shots. It would be two targets for light gun and two targets for heavy gun in one match. Then you have the possibility of shootouts in both. I am not sure if they have shootoffs for both score and group winners like they do in 1000 yard BR. You can use your light gun for heavy also. Matt

I think that if i remember correctly, they had one "F-Class" match last year. Looking at the schedule for this year, it is not looking good for the Highpower gang, be it sling or F-class.

We're taking them at their word that they plan to start an F-Class league in March or April. We'll see.

It's been two week since One Shot said he'd update the schedule soon with F-class dates. Still waiting. I'm a patient fellow, but weekends in the spring schedule are already mostly filled.
 
The match registration form can now be printed from the web page. If you can print it and fill it out. Leave the class you are shooting unselected we will select on match day.
