Converting to a 6.5-25WSSM

I am in the process...of coverting to the 6.5-25WSSM

I talked to Penny at Pac-Nor and ordered

,1) 30' S/S Select Match Grade, bead-blasted, 11 degree target crown..


I have done my homework, done the searches here...read the likes of Boyd Heaton and others..

My question to those that have converted....what is your current approximate round count?

What are your favorite reloads?

Hello..Replied to your p.m....My 28 inch 9 twist barrels.One light and one heavy liked H4350 and 140 A-Max's.Its the only bullet I ever shot out of them.The last light gun barrel I took off had around 2000 rounds down it.It has since been rechambered to a 6.5 SAUM and has been puttin a hurtin on the groundhog's around here...Mine ran well at around 2850fps with a 140 class bullet...Would go faster but I did not see the need.

I ordered a 1 in 8' twist from Pac-Nor.

I loaded my 25WSSM with IMR4350..I see some guys had good luck with RE22

Is the complains we always hear about inconstancy with WSSM brass as big a issue as some claim?

Personally...I have not experienced the inconsistencies..


I neck turn....anneal every 5 rounds....bump the shoulders 0.0015'..I have some brass that have 9 reloads...they stopped stretching after the 1st reload..


All I ever get are sub 0.5' groups at 100 yards..25WSSM

When I did my first one the only brass was the 243wssm...And I had the gun chambered even before the brass was released...It was not very good to begin with...But did get better when the 25 was released

Didn't know Berger made 115s in 26cal, nor Hornady in 75gr..

The lightest V-Max in 6.5 mm is 95 gr.

..they don't....those groups are from my 25WSSM...
