Converting 30/06 to .243

Hi,

I've got a Ruger 77 30/06 and want to know if a .243 barrel can be put on without modifying the bolt? Thanks.

Sure. Case head and rim are the same size.

But be aware that there MAY be feeding problems because of the rails and magazine box length. And don't forget headspacing.

I have a Rem 700 LA in 243 that I want to put ln a AICS stock but need a mag or two that will feed the 243 round. Any one have one or know where I can get one?
