Convert sliding plate to sako ?

Who out there will fill in a sliding plate.
then cut in a sako extractor. Old model BAT 3L. Rb Ll Re dual port
it will not eject and I’m fed up trying to get it to

any help sending me in the right direction will be appreciated

Converting from one type of extractor to another type of extractor probably wont fix your ejection problem. You need to identify what is the problem with the ejector first. If you can't identify the ejector problem, I am sure someone on here will be able to set you on the correct path.

The issue he has is fixed by putting a sako extractor in. It was a design flaw of sorts

Dusty can you explain to me what is wrong with a sliding plate extractor that causes ejection issues. I am genuinely interested, I am not trying to be argumentative.
I have several rifles with sliding plate extractors, although they are not BAT's, and they do not cause me any trouble.

The bat 3L bolt is a huge diameter compared to what you have. The case just falls off the extractor when the bolt is open.

Wouldn't hurt anything just to leave the plate out I guess

Grind the overhang off and solder it in place. Even jb weld would be fine. Or nothing just let it float there

You may try Bat, they are very good about doing one off stuff. The problem with one off stuff that your not set up for is it just takes you too long and you end up loosing your butt so you may struggle to find someone to do it. Bat is worth a call.
Typically the issue with a sliding plate is that it allows the case to pivot into the lug way and fall off the extractor. The sako changes the ejection angle so the case rides the bore way and does not pivot as much. In a 3 lug the angle change is not going to help. What will help is keeping the plunger loaded, the sako is closer to the plunger so it keeps it loaded more. If you have not tried to extend the plunger, that may be worth a try first. Not my favorite fix but it may work for you if you cant find someone to do the job.

I fixed an older bat and a couple of Wichita’s by fitting a new plunger under the sliding plate. Also had to work on tuning ejector. Bat sells a new sliding extractor set. 1000’s of rifles out there working well with sliding extractors.
Sako’s are my favorite. Installed one in a Wichita lug. Probably could do same in a Bat.

I converted my vintage L/R Farley action to a drop port with a Sako. I just left the original sliding plate out.

How's the rim clearance under the extractor? How is the detent location in regards to the rim recess?

I'd be curious if a new extractor might clean up some of the tolerance that is leading to the issue.
