Convert savage 12 lrp 6.5 cm to 6xc?

ive got savage 12 lrp in 6.5 cm. I can get criterion barrel. What are options as far as needing another bolt?

You don't need another bolt....They'll use the same size....But if you want to change bolt heads just for the sake of it here's an option

I understand. The only reason I have the 2 that I do is because the projects had a different size case head than the factory rifle had originally. They are pretty expensive now....When I got mine they were 50 bucks

You probably have your reasons but a 6.5 creedmoor and a 6xc have very similar ballistics. If you've already got 6.5 creedmoor dies and brass, the change to a 6xc may be a bit underwhelming for the money vs getting another 6.5 creedmoor barrel, assuming yours is shot out.

It's not shot out. Maybe 600 rounds thru it. Just like trying new stuff but I don't look forward to getting all new reloading stuff to change cartridge

ZERO need to change Bolt,You can get Any Caliber that fits your bolt face,NSS has Match C Moly or SS barrels for $300,I'd get a Precision Barrel Lug and Prec, notched Barrel nut. If you are swapping it put yourself,you will need Barrel vise and barrel nut wrench,and a Go gage,you can use .001-.002 piece of tape/paper or shim stock on back of Go gage for the No Go gage.

I converted my 6br Savage LRP to 6xc, set the barrel back a couple of threads rechambered.

I would leave it a 6.5 creed, until at least the barrel is shot out. That is one of the most accurate factory rifles I have ever shot/owned in my life. If you want the extra speed, load it with the 6.5 107gr sierra tmk. Should easily get 3100+ fps. As I did with 40.7gr varget and still had alot of room left to go faster. I didn't because at 3112fps, it was a dang laser.
