Convert a .223 barrel to .22 TCM

I have an XP-100 in .223. The .22 TCM is a shortened .223. You can make 22 TCM brass from .223 brass. The sholder angle is the same.

Would it be feasible to trim back the .223 barrel to shorten the chamber? Would you be able to compress the base of the case enough to fit the chamber. Assuming a linear taper the new base size would be, .372" - .352" = .020/2 = .010 + .352 = .362

Can you compress the base of the case from .372" to .362"?

Yes, you could set the barrel back. No, you would need to recut the chamber with a reamer for the TCM. You need to trim a bunch from 223 brass to make the tcm.

Are you doing your own barrel? Do you have a TCM reamer? If so to both just use a rimfire blank and cut a new one, it will work great. 16 twist will be ideal for the TCM bullets.
