Convert 40X bolt to Hornet

Any thoughts on converting my spare 40X bolt with a MAGNUM bolt face to a 22 Hornet bolt face. I know it's possible, but is it practical ? I Have a barrel, receiver, stock , and trigger, all that is left is a bolt.
Should I buy a PTG in Hornet or have my spare bolt converted ?

By the time you pay to have all the work done, you would be better off selling, or trading your bolt for what you want..

I had looked at a .221 fireball .100" short to give me Hornet velocities. I was going to chamber using a 222 Rem reamer and have a long neck. You can find 222/223 bolts that will fit your 40X.

Well, the barrel is currently chambered in 221 , but my suppressor is only rated for Hornet. Lifetime warranty if I use rimfire or Hornet, void if I use anything bigger.

The Hornet is a fine cartridge. The brass is a little thin and you loose a few out of a 100 when loading, but a real good shooter of small things. I have used it to take Yotes at 100 yrds with good sucess. Those 40 gr Hornady/Serria ballistic tips are great. Don't be afraid.

I already have and shoot two Savage rifles and a Contender in Hornet, but also have a Stainless 700 receiver,a Rem 40X barrel chambered in 221 from a switch barrel setup, a nice stock, and a trigger. Was thinking of rechambering to Hornet and have a little more "flexability" in aftermarket parts with the Rem action.
I have a 30-338 Win mag chambered Benchrest barrel and a magnum bolt which are fitted to my 40X. This is the bolt I was thinking about converting to Hornet.
I appreciate all the feedback.
