CONTRIBUTING TO THIS FORUM

This is a great forum, everyone selflessly shares their experiences and information and I'm always learning something everyday here. Just reading the forums and bulletins is worth something to me not counting the endless questions you can ask people who will patiently answer and share their knowledge.
The other thing you can do is find some great deals in the classifieds.

So this post is to say thanks to the guys who run the forum and thanks to all the members who have contributed so far. I hope other folks will decide to donate as well. Right now about 1% of members donate each year. I think that number should be higher.

I donated this year and will again before the end of the year. I really don't know why we don't band together and beef the forum up with a 10.00 bill at least per year. You will get many views on this and it gets downright ridiculous. Thank you for donating and I know there are many others who do the same.

IMHO, there should be a nominal fee per year, $5,$10,$15 bucks... most spend that much or more on foulers a year.
I'm not suggesting most members intentionally don't contribute maybe it just needs to be presented in a better way. Certainly not suggesting exclusive I'm suggesting inclusive.

I read on this site most days and have sold/bought a few things too. As much enjoyment and knowledge it brings me, contributing never bothers me.

Sadly, that being stated, unless I see an occasional "It's time to contribute" topic I don't think of it. That's my fault and I clicked the button on the top right to make up for it.

Thanks for keeping it going.

Cheers for this forum, i started shooting the 6BR because of the people on this site and received a ton of info. Thanks

I agree with all of the above, getting tired of the we contribute in OTHER ways guys.

I threw a $20 in the till earlier this week. I sold a couple gun stocks during the winter on here that I don't feel I would have sold anywhere else. Mainly because I am more comfortable with selling on this site.

I'm glad this thread was started , and reminded me that I hadn't donated in quite a while. This website has been critical in my building of rifles , acquiring ballistic knowledge and shrinking my group sizes .

It aint much , but I just donated another $25 through PayPal .....pmt# 4R778402L8165212F

Thank you everyone for the wisdom you share .

SENT MINE IN 2 WEEKS BACK, SO THANKS GUYS FOR THIS GREAT FORUM, DON'T TELL U ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!

I don't know the policy but it seems like once you've contributed, you're green forever. Is there a time limit? If not I think there should be. I, for one, would be one of the first to go back to yellow. I don't remember when I contributed. Last year, the year before? Need to do it again. Seems like the contribution should be good for a year and after that it goes back to yellow unless you re-up. It would be a easy reminder for those of us who are forgetful.

Way too much thinking, if it feels good do it. Most folks who contribute the first time will contribute again. it is more important for folks to contribute the first time than to remind folks to do it again.

TRex is correct. Over 75% of our donations are from "repeat givers". We appreciate their loyalty, but it's important to expand the base of supporters. User donations really help the site ride out the lean times. Here's an actual example. Just this morning I got an email saying that one large, third-party ad network was going to stop placing ads on the Forum. That unexpected change means the site has $9000 less revenue on an annualized basis. This far into the new year, it will be hard to replace all that revenue.

Just donated $25 a few minutes ago. Yes the information on this site from the veteran shooters is priceless. I have learned 95% of all my shooting/reloading/competition/rifle build information here on AS! Thanks everyone!

I donate once a year not sure why others don't. This site is a wealth of information and don't know why others don't feel it is worth at least the cost of a magazine subscription every year. Keep up the good work guys and thanks!
