Continous Scale Sighting System

Hi Guys I am new to this forum and am not sure if this is the right way to go about getting some feedback on something new I have come up with and am hoping to put into production sometime after Christmas.
Basically some time ago I got really teed off with spending most of my time on ranges sighting other guys scopes in for a new distance, what I found was that out of all the guys I shoot with only about 3% could make a first round hit on a target no matter what the range, which with the introduction of the Safe Shooting System (SSS) which has been introduced here and means you miss a target 4 times and the rifle cannot be used on any range until it has be re zeroed on a 25 yard zero range, this meant most of them spent 1 weekend on the range and the next re-zeroing their rifle in for the next weeks shoot, which with the cost of ammunition here in the UK was costing them a fortune.
So what I did was get together with a couple of other guys and make up a book of ballistic tables, that should at least have got the rest of them on target, it didn’t work, in fact I think it made them worse.
So back to the drawing board, in the end I came up with a very simple device that goes on practically any scope turret and allows a shooter to take the MOA number for a set distance, turn the turret to the corresponding number and take the shot with a very high chance of a first round hit on the target, then be able to select another distance turn the turret to the corresponding MOA number and get another first round hit, after which the sight can then be reset back to the predefined zero, I use 300 yards as my zero always, I hope that makes some sense.

if anyone wants a better look and a clearer explanation of what the CSSS does Take a look at http://www.ab-tactical.com.

Please let me know what you think, either through the website or the post,

thanks

Al

Sounds like you should hang out with a better class of shooters. 97 out of a hundred of your fellow shooters can't make a first round hit "no matter what the range"? God help the Brits if that's true.

It's tough to fix stupid, no matter the intended activity.

Funny you say that Nate. I have tried countless times to get shooters to think in minutes and not clicks. Almost never works.

Bad thing is with the advent of scales on the turrets, zero stops, and everything else that should make it easy, they still don't get it.

Its true, I am sad to say, there are some dam good shots all the same, and its no different in the USA, most people cant hit a barn door at 300, let alone 600, 900, 1000 yards and beyond, or not consistently, probably the guys on this forum can, but they have an interest in precision, and even they will make a mistake occasionally, no one is perfect.

I think you're re-inventing the light bulb through introduction of a candle..

If they know their MOA of adjustment, then they should know their clicks and dial it. Most modern ballistics programs provides this.

Those struggling with it, need to work on their game before competing.

Most of the guys here don't compete, except against the weather, they also don't have the chance to practice often, maybe 4 to 6 times a year, and only when the army has a spare range, and the boss hasn’t got her boot on the back of their necks, chances are that is when it’s raining & blowing a gale, there are no covered firing points in the UK, which are either grass, mud or shingle beach, we shoot in exactly the same conditions as the troops off to Afghanistan, so often they are cold and wet (laid in a puddle), not young and can’t remember what they need to set the sights at due to being cold and wet, the winds here swing round the clock like a spinning compass so often the sights have been turned far too much, and at the end of the day they can’t remember what they have done to the sights, this lets them set back to a zero distance without any trouble, we also don’t shoot just one distance here, unlike some clubs I shot at in other countries, and yes I wish I was still shooting in the USA, best shooting I have ever had except for Africa and the Gulf, count yourself lucky guys your not having to slum it on UK ranges.

Finally who can honestly say they haven't ever made a muck up of setting their sights at a crucial moment, then had to live with it, No one I bet, because we are all human and no one is perfect, this helps take the buggerance factor out of the equation,
