Contender Pistol play

Took the new g2 out to the range this morning.Very basic g2.Factory .223 bbl furniture by Tonys Grips tip top bipod and a Vortex scout 2x7.Went to 50yrds just to dink around.Shooting Black Hills reman.Center is 52gr Match hp.Bottom 50 gr Vmax.Being a senior citizen it's a start.Next time take the rest.

Having shot Contenders in IHMSA match's for many many years I might suggest the following;
1. Use a rest and not the bi pod
2. Do not rest the grip on any thing, instead, grip the pistol as normal, then use your off hand to grip and support your gripping / shooting hand.
3.Get a Lee collet neck sizing die, and reload using faster burning rifle powders like; RL-7, 4198, 2015. You can use 2230,335, 748,ect. but then you and shooters beside you deal with the fireball and extra noise.

Mine likes the 40gr bullets better than 50's or 55's. I reload so can't say on factory ammo. Good luck, they are a lot of fun to shoot.

I can't add much that Wayne has not covered. I have found most TC's and XP's respond to rifle loads well.
My 6-223 XP does its best with a dose of H335. The fireball and blast never bothered me. Shooters to my left and right was a different story especially standing shooters.
I had tried other powders and the accuracy difference was enough I was not going to switch.
