I've owned a 1982 TC Contender for many years and decided to do some shooting. I replaced the hammer spring and the striker spring since the gun is 40 years old. All went well until I locked the barrel up and then could not open it. I did manage to unlock it from beneath. However, after taking out all of the internal parts, cleaning them and putting them back, the hammer would not cock. I determined that the internal safety which should be at its topmost position was not being raised to where it should be. I'm not sure if the interlock is the problem but I have ordered a new one. Not sure what else could be the problem. The safety and the sear appear to be in good condition. The sear spring is also fine. Any thoughts on the barrel lockup or the hammer not cocking? Prior to replacing some parts the barrel was locking up correctly. Any advice would be very helpful. Thank you for your input. Artron9
