Conspicuous lack of .44 cal rifle bullets...

What's up? I haven't seen any Speer 270 deep curls in a LOOONG time (I check many times a week and am on 'notify me' for a bunch), and an email to Speer resulted in the boilerplate "we're shipping bullets daily, blah blah blah"... The Hornady 265s are discontinued.. the Remington 265s gone.. not interested in the Hornady FTX, dare I say... crap... Don't really want to go to lead, and too cheap to do the bougie all copper cnc stuff.. What's everyone else doing? (asking for my 444)

I use Hawk bullets. They have them for the 444 in flat point and spitzer. From 200 to 400 grains.

I have gone to hard case bullets with gas check for the .444 and have gotten good accuracy with them and you can find molds for about any style and weight bullet you want....I had a custom mold made up for 300g flat nose bullets and they pack a real punch using IMR4198

If you don't want to use the Hornady bullet, you would be surprised how well they shoot, and don't want to use cast lead, nor mono bullets, I would say hang your 444 up and use something else for shooting/hunting.
A good 45/70 or 458 Win would work.

Those .44 bullets are not earth shattering in the sells department. Manufacturers are very reluctant to stop a production line running flat out making "best sellers" that they can't make fast enough! Sooner or later they will have enough orders for them to switch a line over to them for a short run. When they do buy, as many as you can find and afford!

Exactly why I went to CAST. I got better accuracy, better performance and no supply issue.
A hard cast bullet is not always a number one choice.

Probably wouldn't hurt to ask them what is making them a second. I've been without any jacketed 41 mags for my carbines for a while till not long ago and Nosler did a run of 41s, 210 gr. I immediately jumped on 1k of them thinking that they couldn't screw them up enough to make any difference in a carbine, got to looking at them and the canalure groove is so faint I'm worried about being able to crimp them enough for my tubealur magazines.... Farmer John ,It says right on the website why they are blems and even shows you a pic!
Being a 41mag fan I took a close look at those 41's you got. I would be more concerned about the location of the cannelure! It's right where the nose stats to taper. Since the diameter there is a little less, thats probably why it looks faint! Load 'em a little light and they will probably be fine. Let us know how the shoot.

Frank I think sometimes I need some one to see after me, I was sitting in the Drs office on my cell phone when I saw the email from them, just punched the order in and got them on the way. Was planning on running them pretty hard with little gun in the carbines and didn't take the time to check the main site as to what was wrong with them. Glad you and @Rem06 spoke up. I've bought quite a few bullets from them and had good luck with them, just got ahead of myself and didn't check the fine print, makes me feel a little foolish. I'll just set them on top of about 8gr of unique and run them out of a mod 57 on the plate rack, need the practice anyway. Thanks fellers for keeping me straight... John

Yep, 7-8 grains Unique in a 41/57/657 with most any bullet works just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to test a few in the carbine. Maybe sneak up on the powder charge as you go.
Interestingly they showed the bullet base, which would not worry me, I've seen em made that way. But the crimp in wrong place wasn't mentioned? Haven't shot a jacketed bullet in my 41s in over 30 years. Used to use those Speer half jacked ones way back then for full power loads.
