Considering new 175 grain 30 cal bullets

Hi Guys,
I've been playing with my new custom .308 that Pierce Engineering built for me. It has a 30" Krieger with 1:11 twist. I have been shooting the Sierra 175 grain Matchkings, but I'm considering opening my wallet wider to see what else could provide better results. I really don't want to go with heavier bullets at this point.

My first candidate is the Berger 175 grain Match Long Range BT target (30420). Any others I should be considering?

Joe, in my 1-11 twist .308 I shoot Berger 185 LRBT (JUGGERNAUT) PN# 30107 for my 1000 yard F/Class shooting. So far this has worked best for me. I have not tried the 175 Berger LRBT. The 175 SMK did well for me at 1000 but the 185 Berger , well you know. Berger's are hard to beat.

Joe, check with John Pierce as he is making custom 30 cal bullets. I know he makes a variety of weights. He makes them on Detsch dies like myself, I primarily make 118gr, 150gr and 200gr but no 180's.

The Berger 175 you mentioned should be a great bullet, but try the 185 LRBT too. I bet you will be very pleased with that

Thank you all for your replies. I guess I will buy a box of the 175 and 185 grain Berger LRBT and give them a try. The 185 seem to be highly regarded, and I'm sure there are good reasons for that.
