Congratulations to Mr. Tony Boyer

I do not know exactly if TB used his NEO during the Supershoot last week, I only read the equipment list / email sent by James Kelbly last night.
Surely TB could win with any setup/rifle rest combo etc, I have no doubt about it. I have met him for several times also.
Once he told me that he would never use another rest. forgot though if it was from one of his letters or via his daughter Sherry? That's alone already made me very happy!! (I believe he said that not only "to please" me). TB also does not do FB or read public forums, it means a lot when I got some letters directly from him.

Have known Tony for years and have had a couple private shooting lessons with him, Mickey Coleman's range in Alabama and at the Denton, Texas range.
The most lasting memory for me was at Mickey's place. Tony told me that he was going to sit in front of the adjacent bench and critique my bench habits. He pulled out an old pencil and a 200 yard target. After each shot Tony made a mark on the target paper. He only watched me and never saw my target until I retrieved it. He had marked my shots exactly as they were on my target. I asked Tony "How did you know that my first shot was high". Tony said that he saw a little pressure I put on the upper tang with my thumb. I said, "OK, how about my second shot that was high and to the right" Tony said I put pressure on the tang again and a slight amount of pressure to the stock with my hand. Now my group wasn't big, a .352 at 200, but he is unbelievable in his observations. I asked him why he went to the Farley rest. He said he was in a slump and didn't know why. He shoots at his home and said he burnt a couple thousand rounds looking for the answer. He finally discovered that squeezing the rear bag was the problem. He lacked the strength, arthritis maybe, so he went to the joystick rest. He is single minded about shooting. I asked him about the different countries he visited at the various World Championships. He could tell you everything about the matches and his performance, but remembers nothing about the country that he was in.
Tony is very personable and easy to visit with if you want to talk shooting.

Tony shot off of Wayne’s Farley set up , no magic , it was simply a matter of conveniance , first guy sets it up , last guy moves it to the next bench.saves having a bunch of equipment and carts for each guy , could just as easily have been Tony’s Neo ,both work well ,
if you ask Tony what his secret is he will tell you, his secret is ,he shoots “A-Lot “ .

Thank you so much for the update Mr. Lambert & Mr. Williamson, very much appreciated.
Also thank you for the compliment. Mr. Lambert you do including Farley etc make great products!
Big congratulations to TB! Also great shooting everyone!

I got to shoot next to Wayne last week, following Tony's relay. I got to watch him shoot many of his groups during the week. It was great to see in his element with a gun that was WORKING!
I also got to have dinner with Faye and Tony on Saturday night. That was something I will never forget.

Thanks for the post. You gave me a few things to work on.

Super Shoot 2012 040.JPG I have twice interviewed Tony and he is very focused on doing every thing that he can to win. However, he is the first to congratulate others when they win. In my few successes, Tony was one of the first to look me up and congratulate me. Also, he will share information with almost any shooter. He told me that he has no secrets and one can read his book and see that his success comes from hard work.....not secrets. I have been privileged to have known this great shooter. Also, let me say that he has "coached" many shooters and helped them to get into the Hall of Fame. Included in this list is John Brown, Wayne Campbell, Faye Boyer, Bart Sauter, Allen Arnette, Larry Costa, and many that I either don't know about or have forgotten. He and Smiley learned together and Tony would probably say that he did not "train" Smiley, but I am sure that he has helped in many ways. Congratulations Tony, and I hope that you have many more years of showing us the right way to shoot small aggs. James PS- Tony would also probably say that without Faye and her support, all of his success would not have happened.
